Stories from the Ngahere (forest)

TELL US A FOREST STORY
//

This is an online project inspired by the Forest Rongoā Teahouse installation. During the open hours of the Teahouse we provided a visitors book and drawing materials and asked our visitors to draw, write + share a story they have of the forest.

Mission

We're hoping to gather and share stories about the forest to grow our understanding of the connection we have to our oldest living relative - nature.

Vision

We would like to see your story too, you can send it to us below and we will add to our combined stories from the forest.

I was picking kawakawa in the ngahere

looking up to the sky

I could see the light

shining through the trees

I gazed up

at the 80 yr old Rimu.

I wondered

what had she seen

or heard.

I stood there for a while,

feeling her strong roots

gently hold me
